About Me

Tiffany L. Smith, RN, BSN, WCC — Nurse. Truth-Teller. Health Freedom Strategist.

I didn’t write a book because I needed a hobby. I wrote it because I couldn’t keep watching people suffer needlessly—not just patients, but providers too. After over 15 years in the trenches of healthcare (from the ICU to ER, hospice, home health, and long-term care) I’ve seen the kind of suffering that doesn’t make it into glossy hospital ads.

I became a nurse because I knew I could be useful. I’m smart, strong, quick on my feet, and I can carry more weight—physically, emotionally, mentally—than most. I wanted to be the one people could rely on when everything else fell apart. And for a while, I was.

But over time, I started to see the same devastating patterns over and over:

Stage 4 cancer patients being tortured with long-term chemo and radiation, even when everyone knew it wouldn’t help. Frail 90-year-olds wheeled into surgery with no real chance of recovery. Patients kept on the same medications for years with no plan to ever wean them off. People hooked up to machines in the ICU, sedated and bloated, with no quality of life—just a pulse. Families being strung along with false hope and half-truths by providers who were either too scared or too programmed to tell them the truth.

And when I spoke up, when I tried to be the voice of reason and compassion—I was often met with silence or abandonment from management. They didn’t care about me—just that the shift was covered. They didn’t care about the patient-just that their bill was paid and their regulations met.

The truth is, we don’t have a healthcare system in this country. We have a medical industry—one that profits off confusion, fear, and blind trust. It gaslights families and patients, overburdens providers, and traps patients in a cycle of procedures and pills until the day they die. I’ve seen the inner workings, and I can’t unsee it. That’s why I built Broken & Brave Health.

Today, my greatest fulfillment comes from having real conversations with people—conversations they’ve never had with any other provider. I talk with patients who are sick of being sick, who feel like they’re being experimented on, who want to know what their actual options are. People who’ve been led to believe they have no choice but to do everything the system tells them. I show them that they do have a choice.

Because here’s the truth: most people know something is wrong. They just need someone to validate their gut and walk them through the way out.

That’s why I created:

  • The Phoenix Code – for patients who are ready to get off the medical treadmill, reduce or eliminate unnecessary meds, and take radical ownership of their health
  • The Embers Program – for healthcare providers who are burned out, disillusioned, and hanging on by a thread, but still have a spark left to protect

I’m also a mom of two wonderful boys, a wife, and someone who’s walked through hell with her eyes open. I have lived a lot of life for a woman my age and have hit rock bottom a few times personally and professionally. I know what it feels like to be exhausted, to feel like no one is telling the truth, and to wonder if things will ever change. That’s why I’m not here to sell you hope with a pretty bow on it. I’m here to offer clarity, strength, and truth—because that’s what actually sets people free.

Whether you’re a patient or a provider, if you’re ready to stop surviving and start reclaiming your life, I’m ready to walk with you.
